Aqualyze, Inc. assists Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) in hydraulic modeling platform selection.

September 1, 2008
- Mr. Rizwan Hamid, PE of Aqualyze, Inc. chaired an eight member modeling technical advisory committee (MTAC) for SPU to evaluate and select one Modeling Platform to be used for all future SPU planning projects. MTAC consisted of personnel from the City, King County, consulting industry, and academia. A total of five modeling platforms were reviewed and applied to an existing model of one of City's combined sewer basins to determine performance. Some of the critical modeling areas for the City staff included modeling of real time controls and special structures, long-term continuous simulation and review of their results, and surface water and groundwater interaction. Modeling platforms were scored using an evaluation matrix. Twenty year life cycle cost analysis was also performed to determine the long-term cost impact of using one platform versus the other.  Currently, a short-list of these modeling platforms are being tested to calibrate a combined sewer basin against observed data.

Aqualyze, Inc. announces the release of QP Manager 2.1 - Rainfall and sanitary flow monitoring data management and analysis software.

April 15, 2008 - In 2007 Aqualyze, Inc. released the first of its kind flow and rainfall data management and analysis software, QP Manager, that can save utilities and consultants valuable time and money. Increasing use of QP Manager identified a need to include metric unit system. We are happy to announce that QP Manager, version 2.1, is now capable of handling metric units as well as U.S. units. Furthermore, international date format (dd/mm/yyyy) is also incorporated in the 2.1 release. Other enhancements include depth and velocity charts, custom charting controls in all graphs, and additional dry weather flow averaging options.

QP Manager can handle large amounts of data in its relational database, thus eliminating data redundancy and human errors. This software can save money on any sized project. Some of the powerful features of QP Manager include advanced data import module, interactive drawing of system schematic, criteria-based automatic generation of dry weather flow hydrographs, criteria-based automatic storm selection, quantification of infiltration/inflow (I/I) (also referred to as rainfall dependent infiltration/inflow or RDII), comprehensive pdf report generation, calculation of flow from depth data using circular pipe hydraulics, and interactive flow charts and scattergraphs.

QP Manager is available for free for evaluation purposes. Aqualyze staff also provide live web demo upon request. Simply fill out an online request to get your free evaluation copy or web demo.
